Add or fix a road in Google Maps

If we need to add or edit road information in Google Maps, you can let us know. Google Maps road errors include:

  • Incorrect road names
  • Incorrect info about one- and two-way roads
  • An incorrectly drawn road
  • Road closures
  • A road on the map that doesn't exist
  • Missing roads
  • Incorrect marker locations.
Important: You can only submit edits to Maps in some countries and regions.

Fix incorrect info about a road

  1. On your computer, open Google Maps.
  2. At the top left, click Menu Menu .
  3. On the left, click Edit the map and then Add or fix a road.
  4. On the map, select the road that you want to fix.
  5. On the left, verify the road segment selected.
  6. Under 'Edit information', select the type of info that you want to fix and enter the correction.
  7. Click Done and then Submit.

Add a missing road

  1. On your computer, open Google Maps.
  2. Click Menu Menu.
  3. On the left, click Edit the map and then Add or fix a road.
  4. On the top, click Add road.
  5. On the map, click the location where the missing road begins and drag to the location where the road ends. 
  6. On the left, add the road name and road type and click Done.
    • To add additional missing roads, repeat steps 4–6.
  7. Click Submit
