Give a place a private label

You can add a private label to places on your map. Labeled places show up on your map, in search suggestions, and in Google Photos.

To add a label, follow the steps below.

  1. On your computer, open Google Maps.
  2. Search for a place or address.
  3. Choose Add a label.

Tip: You need Web & App Activity turned on to give a place a label.

Edit a label
  1. On your computer, open Google Maps.
  2. At the top left, click Saved Save place and then Labeled.
  3. Choose the label you want to edit.
  4. Click Edit your label Edit.
  5. Enter a new label name.
Delete a label
  1. On your computer, open Google Maps.
  2. At the top left, click Saved Save place and then Labeled.
  3. Next to the label you want to remove, click Remove Remove.
Find a labeled place on the map
  1. On your computer, open Google Maps.
  2. At the top left, click Saved Save place and then Labeled.
