Give a place a private label

You can add a private label to places on your map. Labelled places show up on your map, in search suggestions and in Google Photos.

To add a label, follow the steps below.

  1. On your computer, open Google Maps.
  2. Search for a place or address.
  3. Choose Add a label.

Tip: You need Web & App Activity turned on to give a place a label.

Edit a label
  1. On your computer, open Google Maps.
  2. At the top left, click Saved Save place and then Labelled.
  3. Choose the label that you want to edit.
  4. Click Edit your label Edit.
  5. Enter a new label name.
Delete a label
  1. On your computer, open Google Maps.
  2. At the top left, click Saved Save place and then Labelled.
  3. Next to the label that you want to remove, click Remove Remove.
Find a labelled place on the map
  1. On your computer, open Google Maps.
  2. At the top left, click Saved Save place and then Labelled.
