Duo and Meet have combined into a new Meet app. Meet (original) users can download the new app.

Find and invite contacts for Meet calling

You can find a person to call through Google Meet calling if they're in your contacts. If they're not in your contacts but they use Google Meet calling, you can add them.

If you use Google Meet calling on another device with the same Google Account, your contacts sync across devices. 

Sync contacts before you begin

Sync your contacts so that they appear in Google Meet. You can turn this off at any time.

  1. On your device, open Settings.
  2. Search for Meet .
  3. Tap Permission and then Contacts and then Allow.

Tip: You can also remove access to your Google Account contacts. If you remove your account, you won't be able to use certain features like Google Meet on multiple devices. Learn how to remove your Google Account

Find contacts

  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open Meet .
  2. At the top, to find your contact list, tap the search box.
  3. In the search box, enter their name or phone number.
If you can't find the contact that you want, make sure that:

Invite someone to Google Meet calling

If one of your contacts isn't using Meet calling, you can use your mobile app to invite them to download the app so that you can make 1:1 and group video calls with one another.
  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open Meet .
  2. At the top, tap the search box to get your contact list.
  3. Look for the contact that you want to invite and tap Invite. Your default SMS app will open with a pre-loaded invitation message.
  4. Tap Send.

The recipient will receive the message and can then download the app or reply directly to the notification.
