Block or report someone from calling or messaging you in Google Meet

If you no longer want to receive calls or messages from someone, you can block them.

Meet has updated how blocking is handled. When you block someone in Meet:

Tip: When you block someone from calling you in the Meet app, they can still join Group calls or Meet meetings with a shared link. Learn who can join your meetings.

Important: If you use Meet calls with a Business or EDU account, learn how to block and unblock someone.

Block or report someone

  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Meet app .
  2. On the search bar, enter the person’s name you want to block.
  3. Tap the person’s name.
  4. At the top right, tap Contact Options .
  5. Choose one:
    • Tap Block user .
      • If applicable, check the "Report as spam" box.
    • Tap Report abuse and block.
  6. Tap Block.

Important: You can "Block" or "Report abuse and block" without reporting as spam or selecting an abuse type.

Unblock someone

  1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google Meet app .
  2. At the top left, tap Open navigation menu .
  3. Tap Settings and then Blocked users.
  4. Next to the account or phone number you want to unblock, tap Unblock .
