Check that Gmail has notification permissions turned on

To receive incoming call notifications on the web, you must open Meet in a tab in one of these supported browsers:

  • Chrome
  • Mozilla Firefox
  • Microsoft Edge
  • Apple Safari

Check that Meet has notification permissions turned on

  • In Chrome:
    1. On your computer, open Google Chrome.
    2. Go to Google Meet.
    3. At the top, on the left of the URL, click View site information .
    4. Turn on Notifications.
  • In Firefox:
  • In Safari:
    1. On your computer, open Safari.
    2. On the homepage, click Menu and then Settings.
    3. In the “Websites” tab, select Notifications.
    4. Find meet.google.com.
    5. Select Allow.

Frequently asked questions

Will Meet calls ring on my computer?
  • Web users aren’t immediately eligible for new Meet calling. As it supports legacy calls, someone may be trying to reach you on new Meet calling but you won’t receive the ring at meet.google.com.
  • Instead, use your mobile device to receive and answer these calls.
Why don't I get missed call notifications on my device?
This could be due to your device being off or disconnected. In the future, you can find missed call notifications, even if your device is off or disconnected.

Tips:

  • If you use Meet on the web, you aren't immediately eligible for new Meet calling since only legacy calls are supported. If someone tries to reach you on new Meet calling, you don’t receive the ring in Google Meet
  • To receive and answer new Meet calls, use your mobile device.
