Learn how to view people in Google Meet

As more participants join, the tile view displays up to eight tiles on your screen.

View someone in fullscreen

  1. In a meeting, tap the screen so that the call controls appear.
  2. At the bottom right of the person's tile, tap More options More.
  3. From the menu that opens, tap Fullscreen Full screen.
  4. After the participant is in fullscreen, to make the call controls disappear, tap the screen again.
  5. Optional: To remove someone from fullscreen, tap their tile and then More options More and then Exit fullscreen.

Tip: If a teacher points their camera to a blackboard or whiteboard but doesn't share their screen, students can make the teacher's tile fullscreen to follow along more effectively.

Pin any participant

  1. In a meeting, tap the screen so that the call controls appear.
  2. At the bottom right of the person's tile that you want to pin, tap More options More.
  3. From the menu that opens, tap Pin Pin (keep).
  4. Optional: To unpin someone, in the bottom right-hand corner of their screen, tap Unpin .

If the participant's tile that you want to pin isn't visible, at the top, tap the meeting name. On the 'People' tab, next to the participant's name, tap More options More and then tap Pin Pin (keep).

Make someone who's auto-pinned fullscreen

At the bottom right of the pinned participant's tile, tap Fullscreen Full screen.

Tip: Any time that someone shares their screen, their tile is automatically pinned to your screen. While an auto-pinned participant can't be unpinned, you can pin another participant to unpin the presentation.

Zoom out to get a wider view of a participant

If someone isn't fully visible within their tile or they appear cropped, you can zoom their video out.

  1. Find the participant's tile that you want to zoom out.
  2. Pinch the screen to zoom out.

Minimise self-view video

If your floating self-view video obstructs your view or prevents you from following a presentation, you can minimise your self-view.

1. In a meeting, tap your floating self-view video.
2. At the bottom right of your floating video, tap MenuMoreand thenMinimise your video .

Flip pages to view all participants

Important: For Android only.

If there are more participants than can fit on your device's layout in your meeting, you can flip pages to view additional participants. Your self view automatically anchors to the bottom right-hand corner on every page.

To flip pages:

  1. On your Android device, on the right, tap on the tabs.
  2. To return to the main page, tap on the top tab.

Tip: Pinned presentations or participants stay on the first page when you flip pages.
