You can raise or lower your hand in Google Meet hardware to let the moderator or participants know that someone in your room wants to speak.
About meeting moderators
People who schedule or start a meeting are moderators. Entire rooms can be moderators, but only in unscheduled meetings. By default, there is only one moderator for each meeting. However, inside, you can add up to 25 co-hosts.
Moderators receive notifications for hands raised in the order that they’re raised. After a participant speaks or asks a question, you can lower their hand so that others can speak.
Raise or lower your room's hand
When you raise your hand on a Meet hardware device, participants are notified. (The room name appears.) A raised hand appears on the device self view, so that in-room participants can see it.
Tip: You or the meeting moderator can lower your room's hand. If the meeting moderator lowers your room's hand, you see a notification.

Lower one or all hands as a moderator
When someone raises their hand, the moderator sees a notification on the bottom of the meeting window. If your Meet hardware room is the moderator for an unscheduled meeting, any person or room that raises their hand appears in the participant list.
