How to fix: Incorrect MPN

Use the correct Manufacturer's Part number (MPN)

In this article

Why this issue is happening

For one or more of your products you’ve submitted a value for the MPN [mpn] attribute that may be incorrect. As a result, you’ve received a warning about these products, which may be disapproved for ads or free listings.

Potential customers may search for a specific MPN when looking to make a purchase. Providing the correct MPN can help ensure that your product is shown in relevant situations.

How to fix your issue

To fix this issue, provide a valid value for the MPN [mpn] attribute.

Only use MPNs that have been assigned by the manufacturer rather than a reseller or a distributor. If the product doesn’t have an MPN, clear the current value and leave the field blank.

Also, ensure that the corresponding brand name is correctly submitted via the brand [brand] attribute.

Tip: Typically, each variant of a product (different colors or sizes) has its own MPN, so make sure to submit the correct value. A key exception is different sizes of apparel products, where all sizes often have the same MPN. In this case, use the size [size] attribute to describe the standardized size of your product.
