How to fix: Mismatched checkout URL domains

The URL domains of the product pages you provided don’t match your checkout URL domains

In this article

Why this issue is happening

This issue is caused when the URL domains of the product pages you provided don’t match your checkout URL domains.

For example, the product landing page domain is some_fake_merchant.com whereas when the checkout page is rendered, domain changes to some_other_fake_merchant.com.

Due to this issue, shopper continuity is broken as they transition off listings on Google to your cart or checkout site, most likely resulting in a reduction in conversions or sales. Also, mismatching product attributes can deter a shopper’s ability to complete the purchase with ease.

How to fix your issue

To resolve the issue, ensure that the rendered domain for your cart or checkout URL is consistent with the domain for your product landing page URL.

Fix products one by one directly in Merchant Center

Step 1 Go to Products in the Merchant Center, then select the Needs attention tab.

Step 2 Use the filter icon above the table to find all products affected by your issue.

Step 3 Click on the title of the product you want to fix, then click Edit product.

Step 4 Ensure that the rendered domain for your cart or checkout URL is consistent with the domain for your product landing page URL.

Step 5 Select Save.

Fix multiple products at once

Step 2 Use the filter icon above the table to find all products affected by your issue.

Step 3 Select the Download icon to download a list (.csv) of all affected products for all issues or this particular issue.

Step 4 Cross reference the downloaded list with your uploaded product data, and ensure that the rendered domain for your cart or checkout URL is consistent with the domain for your product landing page URL.

Step 5 Reupload your corrected product data to the Merchant Center using your chosen upload method.
