We use automated systems to compile our news index. We aim to show as much of your content as possible. However, we can’t guarantee that every article will be published or affect how it’s ranked. Our News algorithms use various signals to surface useful and relevant news content.
Check if your articles are eligible for Google News
Publishers don’t need to submit their site to be eligible to show content on Google News surfaces. Google algorithmically discovers news content through Search technologies. However, publishers need to be compliant with our content policies to appear on Google News surfaces.
Important: To verify that content from your domain is being indexed by Google, use the site operator “site:yoursite.com.” Without the operator, content from your domain may not appear if we have similar but more relevant content.
Verify that Google can crawl and index your site
Important: If your articles display a different publication name or link to a different site domain, it's possible that we can’t crawl your content. This issue may be caused by outdated information in our system. To fix this issue, update your site’s general information and content in the Publisher Center.
To check on a specific URL, use the URL Inspection Tool in Search Console. The tool shows how Google's crawlers view your page, and why our systems may have trouble indexing your content.
To check your entire site, use the Index Cover Status report. For more details, visit the Search Console Help Center.
You can use a Google News sitemap to help improve how quickly our crawler finds your content and can resolve issues. Google News sitemaps are distinct from Google Search sitemaps. Learn more about Google News sitemaps.

Tip: If you operate a site in multiple languages, do not automatically redirect site visitors to different language versions. Learn more about how to manage multi-regional and multilingual sites.
