Test Automatic Connection
The device with the Orion Network Verification app should automatically connect to the network when you are within range.
Note: If your test device is on an existing Wi-Fi network, disconnect from it before testing Orion.
Test success
When in range of your test Access Point, open your device's Wi-Fi Networks list and confirm you are connected to Orion:
Important: Do not attempt to manually connect to the Orion Wi-Fi network by tapping on it in your Wi-Fi settings. Your test device should automatically connect to it using Hotspot 2.0.
Test failing?
- Make sure that you have installed the Orion Network Verification app.
- Mobile devices always prefer saved networks over Hotspot 2.0 networks. If your device is in range of other saved networks, you will need to disconnect from them before testing.
- If your device sees the "Orion" SSID but does not attempt to auto-connect, check your Hotspot 2.0 settings in your wireless controller.
- If your device attempts to connect to the Orion SSID but fails, check your wireless controller's RADIUS logs. If you are receiving a RADIUS-Reject for your test profile, contact [email protected].
- If you are receiving RADIUS-Accepts from Orion, check your user VLAN. Is your client receiving an IP address?
