Pre-sanctioned credit line on UPI

You can now pay for your purchases on Google Pay through a pre-sanctioned credit line.

A credit line is a flexible loan that some banks offer. It works as a pre-approved, set amount of money that you can access when needed.

If you have a pre-sanctioned credit line from your bank, you can set it up as a form of payment on Google Pay. You can use it to pay for select merchant transactions that you make online or through QR scans.

Typically, the bank charges interest for the amount you use from your credit line. For other concerns, contact your bank directly. To get your bank’s contact details, visit digisaathi.info.

To use your pre-sanctioned credit line on Google Pay, make sure to:

Ensure your bank supports the credit line feature on UPI

Use the same mobile number with Google Pay and your bank

Use the same registered mobile number for both Google Pay and the bank that issued your credit line.

Tip: If you want to add your credit line to Google Pay with your Aadhaar, your Aadhaar must be linked to the same registered number.

Turn on outgoing SMS services

You must send an SMS when you add a credit line on Google Pay. Make sure that you allow outgoing SMS services.

  • If you have a prepaid recharge pack that doesn't have an “Outgoing SMS” option, contact your operator.
  • To check your balance, follow the steps given by your operator.

    VI *199*1*8#

Have a debit card associated with the credit line

You must have a debit card for the credit line that you want to add. You can also try to use the same debit card issued by the credit line issuing bank. For more information about your debit card, contact your bank.

Example of concerns that only the issuing bank can answer:
