To receive payments from Google, you must complete the identity verification.
- To complete the identity verification process, after you set up your profile, you’ll receive an email from Google with steps to provide your information.
- For Developers that have a payments profile with India and are eligible for disbursement, you're required to complete verification with our external partner; Billdesk. To start verification, follow the instructions in the Billdesk email (from [email protected]).
Why we might ask you to verify
- To verify that your information is correct to access certain content.
- To verify your identity to complete a transaction with Google.
- We noticed unusual activity or transactions.
- We need more information for legal or regulatory reasons.
What happens if you don’t complete the verification process
If you choose not to complete the verification process:
- You won’t get future payouts.
- We may close your profile.
Even if you successfully verified your bank account, you won’t get any further payouts. In this case, you must refund all orders that you haven’t gotten payouts for.
How to submit documents
For details about the specific information we requested in your case, check the email that we sent you. To complete the verification process, you may need to submit documents such as:
- Supplier invoices: Invoices or receipts from a wholesaler of items you’re retailing help us confirm that these items are currently available in your stock.
- For verification purposes, any invoices you submit must include the supplier’s business name and telephone number.
- Driver’s license or government ID: If the address listed on your driver’s license or government ID doesn’t match the address listed in your profile, submit proof of your address with a:
- Bank statement
- Credit card bill with the first 12 digits of your card number blacked out
- Water, phone, or other utility bill
- Business license: A state-issued license that shows you’re legally permitted to perform business operations.
On all the documents you submit, include your Merchant ID.
We securely store your personal information and treat it in accordance with our Privacy Policy and Payments Privacy Notice.How long it takes to complete the verification process
- If we received all the requested documentation, it typically takes 2–3 business days.
- If we hold a merchant payout pending your profile verification, we release it within 3–5 business days of completing the verification process.
- For Developers that have a payments profile with India verifying with BillDesk, the verification may take longer.
After we complete the profile verification review, we’ll contact you. After we successfully verify your profile information, any held funds are paid directly to your account in a one-time, out-of-band payment.
European merchant verification for payments
Important: If you didn’t receive your merchant payment and you’re based in the European Union (EU), you may need to complete the merchant identity verification process, also called the “seller verification identification” or SVID process.
To confirm your identity and protect you from fraud, we review your information periodically. Until users complete their verification process, European law requires payment providers to verify the identity of their users and withhold payments. If you’re selling to customers in the EU, to help us confirm your identity, we may contact you to request more documentation by email.
