When you enter new payment information for a Google product or service, we save it for you in a payments profile. The next time you buy something through Google, you can reuse the information in the payments profile, or you can create a new one. Any payments profile that you create or are invited to manage is associated with your Google Account.
Google payments profiles keep information, including the following:
- Name, address and the tax ID of who's responsible for the profile, when required legally
- Credit cards, debit cards, bank accounts and other payment methods that you've used to buy through Google in the past
- Receipts and other information about past transactions
- Subscriptions and recurring payments
- Business subscriptions and recurring payments
- Who you've invited to manage your profile
- Merchant payout history and reports
- Merchant tax settings
You can create a payments profile, edit or remove payments profiles, and manage other payments profiles when you're invited.
Profile types
Important: For some business products, like Google Ads, you may find that Account type = 'Organisation' instead of 'Business'.
When you create a new payments profile, you must choose to set it up for an 'Individual' or a 'Business'. Bear in mind:
- This information must be accurate for tax and identity verification reasons.
- You cannot change the profile type later.
Make sure that you choose the profile type below that best fits how you plan to use your profile:
- Individual: If you're using your account for your own personal payments, choose this payments profile type.
- Business: If you're paying or accepting payments on behalf of a business, organisation, partnership or educational institution, choose this payments profile type.
When you check out with some Google products, you can create another profile. If you have the option to create a new profile, you'll be asked to enter your payment information when you sign up.
When to create multiple profiles
If you're using your profile for personal payments only, we recommend that you only create one payments profile to manage all of your Google purchases from a single place.
You might want to create another profile if:
- You want to have separate personal and business profiles tied to your Google Account.
- You want to manage profiles for more than one business or organisation.
- You want to have profiles in multiple countries. Note: You may have to create a new profile when changing countries.
