I am a student
Our app covers most of the math areas from elementary to high school, but there are always more topics to cover. You can check supported and unsupported content on our Help Center.
Our content and development teams are working on adding support for more complex problems every day. We hope to cover the whole high school math curriculum soon!
I am a teacher
Photomath is a practical tool for teachers to use inside and outside the class.
Photomath can take care of the “technical” part (i.e. the calculation process), which leaves you more time to focus on teaching the logic behind problems and developing problem-solving skills.
As a teacher, you can also give assignments for home using Photomath, for students to sharpen their skills before taking a test. Students can check their progress with in-class exercises and homework.
I’m a parent
Whether your student is a mathlete or math challenged, Photomath will help her/him interpret problems with comprehensive math content from arithmetic to calculus to drive learning and understanding of fundamental math concepts. Students can get instant help and detailed step-by-step explanations for any printed or handwritten problem and check their progress in an instant.
Photomath can be a tool for students to work through problems at their own pace. Students who need extra help or to review previous concepts can use the app to walk through as many examples as necessary to understand how to approach certain types of problems. Thus, Photomath can help students work at their own level and own pace with as many examples and practice as needed.
Is Photomath a cheating tool?
As with any technology, we believe there are optimal methods of using Photomath, and our emphasis with the app is how to approach problems through clear and intuitive explanations. In other words, we strive to help students develop a deeper understanding of math concepts through the smart use of technology.
We want students to appreciate the mathematics that underlies Photomath and to become skilled users with healthy habits and the ability to mentally check the feasibility of answers. In fact, 75% of students report using Photomath to check their answers. Students should be encouraged to use Photomath to check their answers to practice problems, compare their solutions, and identify any missteps in their calculations.
