Google is offering a one-year repair programme for Pixel 4 XLs purchased in the US, Singapore, Canada, Japan and Taiwan, for certain power-related issues.
In Canada, if you’re eligible for this programme, you may receive a free replacement or repair at our option for up to one year after your warranty expires.
What issues may be covered
The issues must be related to:
- Not able to turn on the phone
- The phone restarts or shuts down randomly without a manual restart or shutdown
- Charging with an adaptor
- Wireless charging
- The phone’s battery is draining significantly faster than earlier in its use

The replacement programme does not apply to Pixel 4 XLs bought in Australia, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Spain or the UK, where eligible devices will be processed as part of their normal two-year manufacturer's warranty.

Tip: If you purchased your phone from a third party, such as a mobile operator, and you're eligible for the programme after troubleshooting, contact the seller for support of the repair with your limited warranty.

Repair your phone
Important: If your Pixel 4 XL has any damage that prevents Google from repairing it, like a cracked screen, the issue needs to be fixed before investigating the power-related issue. In some cases, there may be a fee to fix the damage.
To check if your Pixel 4 XL is eligible for repair, you can bring your device to to the nearest Communication Test Design (CTDI). If your phone isn't eligible for repair through the one-year extended repair programme, then there may be a fee to repair your phone.
Tip: Before you bring in your phone or send for repair, back up your data to your Google Account by opening your phone's settings app. Then tap System Backup Backup.

Important: When Google or an authorised repair provider, like Asurion/uBreakiFix, receives your phone, they’ll ask about your issues and inspect your phone before starting the repair to verify that it’s eligible for this programme.
