Handling
Handle your 30 W USB-C Charger with care. You may damage it if you disassemble, drop, bend, burn, crush or puncture it. Do not use a charger with a damaged enclosure, damaged or bent plug blades or other form of physical damage. Using a damaged 30 W USB-C Charger may cause overheating or injury. Do not expose your charger to liquids, which can cause a short circuit and overheating. Stop using your charger if it gets wet. Do not attempt to dry it using an external heat source. Do not use the charger outside or in wet locations, such as near a sink, bathtub or shower stall. Never touch the charger with wet hands.
The 30 W USB-C Charger is designed to work best in ambient temperatures between 0° and 40°C (32° and 104°F), and should be stored between ambient temperatures of -30° and 70°C (-22° and 158°F). Do not expose your 30 W USB-C Charger to temperatures above 45°C (113°F), such as on a car dashboard or near a radiator, as this may damage the 30 W USB-C Charger, overheat the battery or pose a risk of fire. Keep your 30 W USB-C Charger away from heat sources and out of direct sunlight. If your device becomes too hot, disconnect it from its power source if it is plugged in, move it to a cooler place and do not use it until it has cooled. Your 30 W USB-C Charger is designed to work best at an altitude of up to 5,000 m (16,404 ft).
This charger is designed to work with Google USB-C® devices. Make sure that the charger and the device it's plugged into are well ventilated when in use or charging. Using damaged cables or chargers, or charging when moisture is present, can cause fire, electric shock, injury or damage to your device or other property. When charging your device, make sure that the charger is plugged into a socket near your device and is easily accessible. Avoid charging your device in direct sunlight.
30 W USB-C Charger was designed to be compliant with the USB Type-C® specification and, as such, is capable of 5 V at 3 A; 9 V at 3 A; 15 V at 2 A; 20 V at 1.5 A when used with USB PD-enabled devices, and is capable of up to 11 V at 3 A; 16 V at 2 A; 21 V at 1.5 A (max 30 W) for USB PD 3.0 PPS-enabled devices. Use of this charger with devices and cables that are not compatible with the voltage and current shown on its label, and/or that are not compliant with the USB Type-C specification, may result in injury and permanent damage to the device and/or charger. This charger is a certified limited power source (LPS) per IEC 60950-1 and classified PS2 per IEC 62368-1. Output currents higher than 3 A are only enabled when using a cable rated higher than 3 A, such as a cable with an e-marker rated for 5 A.
Repair and service
Do not attempt to repair your 30 W USB-C Charger yourself. Disassembling the charger may cause injury or may damage it.
Contact customer service if your 30 W USB-C Charger isn't working properly or has been damaged. For more information, visit g.co/pixelcare.
Powering other devices
This charger is designed to work with Google USB-C® devices. Make sure that the charger and the device that it's plugged into are well ventilated when in use or charging. Using damaged cables or chargers, or charging when moisture is present, can cause fire, electric shock, injury or damage to your device or other property. When charging your device, make sure that the charger is plugged into a socket near your device and is easily accessible. Avoid charging your device in direct sunlight.
When disconnecting the charger from a power socket, pull on the charger, never on the cable. Do not twist or pinch the USB cable, and do not force a connector into a port.
Prolonged heat exposure
The charger generates heat during normal operation and complies with applicable surface temperature standards and limits. Avoid prolonged, direct or indirect skin contact when the device is in use or charging because exposing skin to hot surfaces for a long period of time may cause discomfort or burns. Do not sleep on or with your charger or a device that it is charging, or cover them with a blanket or pillow. Be aware of this issue if you have a physical condition that affects your ability to detect heat against your skin.
Child safety
This device is not a toy. Your 30 W USB-C Charger may contain (or may come with) small parts, plastic elements and parts with sharp edges that may cause an injury or create a choking hazard. Children have been strangled on cords and cables. Keep the 30 W USB-C Charger's cords and cables out of the reach of children (more than 0.9 metres (3 feet) away) and do not allow them to play with the 30 W USB-C Charger and its accessories. They could hurt themselves or others, or could accidentally damage the 30 W USB-C Charger. Consult a physician immediately if small parts are swallowed.
Disposal, transportation and recycling
Dispose of your charger in accordance with local regulations. Do not dispose of it in normal household waste. Improper disposal may lead to fire, explosion and/or other hazards. Do not open, crush, heat above 45°C (113°F) or incinerate. For more information on recycling your device, please visit g.co/HWRecyclingProgram.
Environmental restrictions
To prevent damage to your charger's parts or internal circuits, do not use or store it in dusty, smoky, damp or dirty environments. Keep it away from heat sources and out of direct sunlight.
Explosive atmospheres
Do not use your charger where flammables or explosives are stored (e.g. in petrol stations, fuel depots or chemical plants). Do not use it where blasting operations are in progress, or in potentially explosive atmospheres, such as in areas where the air contains high levels of flammable chemicals, vapours or particles (such as grain, dust or metal powders). Sparks in such areas could cause an explosion or fire resulting in bodily injury or even death. Observe all notices and signs where these hazards might exist.
Proper handling and usage
Follow these guidelines when using, storing or cleaning your charger:
Operating temperature
Do not use or charge the charger at ambient temperatures lower than 0°C (32°F) or higher than 40°C (104°F).
Care and cleaning
Unplug the charger before cleaning, during lightning storms or when unused for extended periods of time. Use a clean, soft and dry cloth to clean the charger. Do not use any chemical detergent, powder or other chemical agents (such as benzene) to clean the charger.
