Personalize your phone with custom wallpapers using AI prompts on your Pixel 8 Pro.

On the home screen, touch and hold an empty space. Then, tap Wallpaper & style.

Important: When you change your wallpaper selection, your system colors also change.

Tap More wallpapers.

To generate a custom AI wallpaper, tap AI wallpaper.

Select a theme.

Your Pixel phone provides a prompt to create the AI wallpaper based on the theme you chose.

To edit the image, you can tap the underlined words. Then, tap the first color prompt.

Tip: To generate an image, tap Inspire me.

You can edit the prompt that generates the AI wallpaper. To generate your custom AI wallpaper, tap the underlined words to select new descriptions for the prompt.

When you’re satisfied with your chosen prompt, tap Create wallpaper.

Based on the prompt you chose, your Pixel phone generates your new AI wallpaper.

If you’re happy with the AI wallpaper, tap Done .

To preview the wallpaper, tap between lock screen and home screen. Then, tap Set wallpaper.

Choose where you want to place the wallpaper.

Home screen: The wallpaper shows when you unlock your phone.
Home and lock screens: You’ll have the same wallpaper when your phone is locked or unlocked.
