Use Google Assistant to control your apps, your phone, and your connected home with your voice.
Important: To use Google Assistant, you need a Pixel 4 or later with:
- The Google app with version 10.73 or later
- Google Play services
Talk to Google
To get help from Google Assistant, on the side of your phone, press and hold the Power button.
To check which languages are available for Google Assistant:
- Say "Hey Google! Open Assistant settings."
- Under “All settings,” tap Languages Add a Language.
- Explore the languages available.
Get answers
Say “Hey Google! What’s the weather tomorrow?” or “Hey Google! Get me directions to the nearest gas station.”
Play music or videos
Play music on your favorite apps and easily find videos on YouTube. Just say, "Hey Google!" Then, say a command, like "Play my workout playlist" or "Play a video on baking a cake."
Set a reminder
To set a reminder, say “Hey Google! Remind me to call Mom today.”
Google Assistant asks you when and where you want to be reminded and if you want the reminder to repeat.
Answer a call
To allow Google Assistant to help with specific tasks without the need to say “Hey Google,” turn on Quick phrases.
To turn on Quick phrases:
- Say, “Hey Google! Open Assistant settings.”
- Tap Quick phrases.
- Turn on the phrases you want to use.
With Quick phrases for incoming calls turned on, to answer an incoming call, say, “Answer.” To silence the call, say, “Decline.” You can also tell Google Assistant to answer the call for you and ask if it’s urgent.
Change your phone’s settings
Easily control your phone’s settings with your voice. For example, say, “Hey Google! Turn on Bluetooth."
Find a song
If you hear a song that you enjoy, say, “Hey Google! What song is this?” If Google Assistant can find the song, it’ll show you the song’s details.
