Manage users and permissions

Permission levels

Podcasts Manager supports the following permission levels for a show:

  • Admin: Grants full permissions on the show. Admins can add, remove, and modify permission for anyone, including other Admins.
  • Editor: Can read or change all settings on the show. Editors can see, but not modify, the list of show users.
  • Viewer: Can read all show data, but cannot make changes or see the list of show users.

See all users for your show

To see the list of users for your show, click Settings Settings > Permissions on the show's homepage. If you don't see Permissions in the settings list, you don't have rights to see or edit user permissions. Only Admins and Editors can see the user list, and only Admins can change permissions.

Add a user

You must be an Admin to add users to a show.

To add a user:

  1. Open your show in Podcasts Manager.
  2. Click Settings Settings > Permissions on the show's homepage.
  3. Enter the email address of a user to add, adjust the permission level as necessary, then click Add. The email address must be for a valid Google account.
  4. Continue to add, remove, or modify users in the list.
  5. When finished, click OK to save all your changes, or Cancel to drop all changes.

Remove a user

You must be an Admin to remove users from a show.

You cannot currently remove yourself from a show (even Admins can't). To remove yourself from a show, ask an Admin to remove you.

To remove a user:

  1. Open your show in Podcasts Manager.
  2. Click Settings Settings > Permissions on the show's homepage.
  3. Click the permission level selector for the user to be removed, and choose Remove.
  4. Continue to add, remove, or modify users in the list.
  5. When finished, click OK to save all your changes, or Cancel to drop all changes.

Change a user's permission level

You must be an Admin to change the permission level of another user.

You cannot currently change your own permission level, even if you're an Admin. To change your own permission level, you must ask another Admin to change your permission level for you.

To change a user's permission level:

  1. Open your show in Podcasts Manager.
  2. Click Settings Settings > Permissions on the show's homepage.
  3. Click the permission level selector next to the user's name, and choose a new permission level.
  4. Continue to add, remove, or modify users in the list.
  5. When finished, click OK to save all your changes, or Cancel to drop all changes.
