Search across all datasets in the Public Data Explorer

The Public Data Explorer now supports searching across all of the public datasets hosted in the product. To do this, go to the Public Data Explorer home page and enter your search query in the box at the top. Note that there are two types of results:

  1. Datasets: A set of statistics, bundled together into a coherent unit by a single data provider. Examples include "Population of the United States", produced by the US Census Bureau, and "World Development Indicators", produced by the World Bank.
  2. Metrics: Individual metrics, i.e. statistics, that are components of larger datasets. Examples include "population", "unemployment rate", and "GDP".

By default, search results will be shown in "metrics" mode. If you're looking for a dataset, you can switch modes by clicking on the "Datasets" button on the left side of the page.
