The Healthcare appointment availability feature lets you book appointments with select healthcare entities through Google Search. This service makes it easier to schedule healthcare appointments, at no charge.

Find available healthcare appointments

You can find appointment availability when you search for a healthcare provider on Google Search. Healthcare providers can be practitioners or service facilities.

Use the healthcare provider’s page on Google Search to explore appointments options. The appointment schedule is provided by third-party health partners.

Tips:

  • To find the earliest available appointment dates, go to the "Overview" tab of a healthcare provider's page.
  • To find a list of available appointments sorted by appointment type and earliest date for booking, go to the “Appointments” tab. 
  • Select “Book” to go to the partner website. There, you can select your specific time slot and complete your booking. 
  • To view all available appointments for a provider, go to the “More booking options” section at the bottom of the appointment tab, which will take you to the third-party health partner's website.

Data sources and availability

Healthcare appointment availability information is based on regular data updates from booking aggregators. These provide the latest available data from healthcare systems and data from some individual providers. Data freshness is expected to be within 2 hours. Currently, this feature is only available in the US.

Appointments

What if the appointment type I’m looking for isn’t displayed?

Click one of the links below “More booking options” on the bottom of the “Appointments” tab to explore the full list of appointment types offered by the given provider.

How can I cancel or modify a booking?

If your booking can be modified or canceled:

  • Follow the instructions in your confirmation email from the booking partner.
  • Call the business. This is recommended if your booking is between 1 to 2 days away.
  • You may need to cancel your booking and book again with new information.
Will I receive a booking confirmation email?

Google won’t send you a confirmation email since the appointment is booked in the healthcare provider's booking system. Whether you get a confirmation email will depend on the specific provider's booking platform.

Should I reach out to the healthcare provider before going to the appointment?

Confirmation emails may be sent by the third-party booking site or directly from the provider. The healthcare provider may also follow up with an appointment reminder. If you don’t receive confirmation from the healthcare provider, please call the provider’s office to confirm.

How far out is availability shown?
The availability of future appointments varies depending on each third-party booking partner. Availability information may extend up to 6 months into the future.

Costs & fees

Is there a cancellation fee if I cancel my booking?
All changes and cancellations are subject to each provider’s policies, which are listed on the booking partners’ sites. Google isn’t in charge of these policies.
Can I review the price of the booked service?
Google doesn’t receive appointment price or copay information from third-party booking sites, so pricing isn’t available on our booking feature. It's always recommended to call the provider to confirm co-pay or pricing prior to your visit.
Does Google get paid to list appointments?
No, Google doesn’t get paid to list appointments.

Data & privacy

How often are appointment times updated?
Data is refreshed about every 2 hours.
Will Google know that I booked this service?
No. All healthcare appointment bookings happen on the third-party booking sites or with your provider directly. Google doesn’t store appointments booked by users and doesn’t collect or maintain any personal information from your healthcare provider.
Does Google use booking data for advertising?
No. Healthcare appointment bookings happen on the third-party booking sites or with your provider directly. Google neither stores appointment data nor uses this data for advertising purposes.
How does Google determine which appointments to show me?
Each third-party booking partner determines the list of top appointment types to share with Google. Google will show appointment availability based on the partner’s preferences.
