Dynamic creative remarketing

Set up a remarketing profile

Navigate to the Dynamic Content tab in Studio. Open your advertiser and create a dynamic profile, then upload your feed.

Set data types and rules for your remarketing feed

  1. Navigate to Step 2: Manage Data. In the "Data types and filters" section, select the appropriate field type for each of the columns in the feed. For the remarketing targeting columns, select Remarketing value as the field type. If you don't see Remarketing value in the list of data types, contact your Google Marketing Platform account manager to enable this feature.

  2. (Optional) In the Quantity column, enter the number of rows you want to pull from the feed at one time. For example, if you're using a product carousel to show off multiple products, you can update the quantity to 2, to pull two rows and display two products in the carousel. 

  3. Go to Step 3: Manage Rules. Confirm that the "Type" drop-down is set to Auto-filter and the summary displays Filtering on: Product_SKU (or whatever the remarketing column is called). Click Manage to review and select remarketing attributes. 

  4. Choose how to rotate feed rows. Select one of the two options in the Rotation drop-down:

    1. Optimized:  Select rows based on the products most recently viewed by that person, and order them by most recent. (The number of available recent products is limited by the number of values your remarketing attribute stores.)

      Note: When using a Google Merchant Center feed, the only rotation option is Remarketing optimized.

    2. Random:  Randomly rotate rows based on recently viewed products.

  5. In Step 4: Generate Code, the dynamic code is generated. Follow these steps to incorporate the dynamic code into the creative asset files and upload the final assets to Studio.

  6. (Optional) In Step 6: Reporting Dimensions choose any additional columns you want to include in reports. Unique ID, Reporting label, and filterable columns are automatically included. To add other columns as dimensions: 

    1. Click Manage.

    2. Select up to 6 columns to include in reports using the drop-down menus under "Field".

    3. When done, click OK.

    4. Save the profile.

Preview and publish the profile

  1. In Step 5: Preview, preview the creative. Enter the appropriate custom variable value (e.g. Product SKU X12345) into the text box and click Apply.

  2. In Step 7: Publish, click Publish.​
