How to format congressional district codes

Targeting a congressional district is very similar to other location targeting. Instead of entering the name of the geographic location that you’d like to target, you simply enter a district code.

The district code is formatted like this: XX-#

“XX” indicates the state's postal abbreviation, and "#" represents the congressional district number.

For example, if you target the 34th district in California, enter CA-34.&;

For single-digit district numbers, enter the digit without a zero. For example, if you target the 9th district in California, enter CA-9.

Here are a few more examples of correct and incorrect entries:

  • Correct: AL-4, CA-20
  • Incorrect: AL-04, California-20
