Create and apply labels

Report on labels

Use label reports as an alternative to reporting from the standard account, campaign, and ad group hierarchy. For example, if you apply a "Brand" label to all brand campaigns in your advertiser and a "Generic" label to all generic campaigns in your advertiser, you can compare the performance of these campaign groups across all engine accounts.

To report on labels:

  1. Navigate to an advertiser.

Steps for navigating to an advertiser
    1. Click the navigation bar to display navigation options.

    2. In the "Agency" list, click on the agency that contains the advertiser. You can search for an agency by name or scroll through the list.

    3. In the "Advertiser" list, click on the advertiser.

    4. Click Apply or press the Enter key.

Search Ads 360 displays the advertiser page, which contains data for all of the advertiser’s engine accounts.

  2. In the left navigation panel, click Labels.
The Labels page shows a summary of metrics for all labels in your advertiser.
For example, if you applied a "Brand" label to all brand manual campaigns in your advertiser, you'll see a row in the reporting table that shows the total number of clicks attributed to all of your brand keywords.

If you apply a label to an ad, the ad's reporting data is not included in the label's summary report. For example, if you apply a label named "September sale" only to ads, when you click Labels in the left navigation panel, the "September sale" row in the reporting table shows zero for all metrics. If you click the label name and then click the Ads tab, you'll see metrics for the ads.

  3. To see metrics attributed to specific campaigns, ad groups, ads, or keywords, click a label name from the reporting table. Then click the Campaigns, Ad groups, or other tab.

  4. Optionally use filters, add or remove columns, or segment the report to customize the type of data you see.
For example, you can set up a filter so that only labels with a certain number of keywords are displayed, and then save the view for later use.
Tips:
  • To see all of the labels that are in effect for campaign, ad group, or other item, add the All labels column. The column shows labels that are inherited as well as labels that are applied directly.
  • To see only the labels that you’ve directly applied to objects, add the Labels column.
  • To filter the report so that it shows only items with specific labels, add the All labels or Labels column and create one of the following filters:
    • Labels contains labelA | labelB: Shows items whose Labels column contains labelA or labelB, or both, in addition to other labels.
For example, this filter on the Campaigns tab:
      "Contains" filter

      Matches these campaigns:
      Campaigns Labels
      ComfyWalkers-Casual Brand
      Spring sale
      Fall sale
      ComfyWalkers-Dress Brand
      Q3 closeout Brand
      Generic

    • Labels contains all of labelA | labelB: Shows items whose Labels column contains labelA and labelB, in addition to other labels.
For example, this filter on the Campaigns tab:
      "Contains all of" filter

      Matches this campaign:
      Campaigns Labels
      ComfyWalkers-Casual Brand
      Spring sale
      Fall sale
