Link a Search Ads 360 advertiser with a Google Analytics property

Special permissions required

To link or unlink a Search Ads 360 advertiser with Google Analytics, your user account needs all of the following permissions:

Link Search Ads 360 with a Google Analytics property

To link Search Ads 360 with a Google Analytics 4 property, follow the instructions in [GA4] Analaytics Search Ads 360 integration.

By linking accounts, access to and use of your Google Analytics and Search Ads 360 data will be made accessible to each others linked account (as supported by the product), subject to the relevant terms of the applicable account. Please note that anyone with access to your accounts will be able to see the shared data in that account.

After you link to an Analytics property, if you move the property to a different Google Analytics account, the link continues to work.Note that you're no longer required to link Search Ads 360 to the Analytics property before you move the property.

You can move a property that is not linked to Search Ads 360, and make the link to Search Ads 360 after you move the property.

To link accounts:

  1. In Search Ads 360, navigate to an advertiser.

    1. Click the navigation bar to display navigation options.

    2. In the "Agency" list, click on the agency that contains the advertiser. You can search for an agency by name or scroll through the list.

    3. In the "Advertiser" list, click on the advertiser.

    4. Click Apply or press the Enter key.

    Search Ads 360 displays the advertiser page, which contains data for all of the advertiser’s engine accounts.

  2. In the left navigation panel, click Advertiser settings.

    Don't see Advertiser settings? Only Search Ads 360 agency managers or advertiser managers can see Advertiser settings in the left navigation panel. 

  3. Turn on the Conversion API (this is required to enable Google Analytics support):

    1. Click the Integrations▼ tab and select Conversion API.

    2. Toggle Conversions API to On.

    3. Click Save.

  4. Link Search Ads 360 with a Google Analytics property:

    1.  Click the Integrations▼ tab and select Google Analytics integration.

    2. Toggle Google Analytics support to On.

    3. In Web Property ID, enter the ID of the Google Analytics property that you use to track activity on your site.
      Make sure you're signed into Search Ads 360 with an account that has the correct level of permissions in Google Analytics for the property you're linking. You need special permissions in both Search Ads 360 and Google Analytics to link accounts.

    4. Click Save.

  5. Under Available views, select a Google Analytics view.
    The Available views list contains all views that have been created for the property and that you have permission to read.

Next steps

Add Google Analytics columns to Search Ads 360 reports. The columns will start being populated starting the day the link is complete. Note that Search Ads 360 only reports data associated with Search Ads 360 visits, and only data starting from the day the link is complete. If you don't see data in columns such as GA pageviews, review these important details about GA data in Search Ads 360. If you think there may be a problem, contact customer support.

Unlink Search Ads 360 and Google Analytics accounts

Unlinking Search Ads 360 and Google Analytics stops all sharing of data between these products regardless of the Data Sharing Options selected in Google Analytics. See what happens when you unlink Search Ads 360 and Google Analytics.

To unlink accounts:

  1. In Search Ads 360, navigate to an advertiser.

    3. In the "Advertiser" list, click on the advertiser.

    4. Click Apply or press the Enter key.

    Search Ads 360 displays the advertiser page, which contains data for all of the advertiser’s engine accounts.

  2. In the left navigation panel, click Advertiser settings.

  3. Click the Integrations▼ tab and select Google Analytics integration.

  4. Toggle Google Analytics support to Off.

    If instead of seeing the Google Analtyics toggle button you see a message like this:
    Insufficient permissions to change GA support settings
    Make sure you're signed into Search Ads 360 with an account that has the correct level of permissions in Google Analtyics for the property that is currently being used by Search Ads 360. You need special permissions in both Search Ads 360 and Google Analytics to link and unlink accounts.

  5. Click Save.
