View performance of products advertised in a Shopping campaign

The Products advertised dimensions and segments display metrics about impressions, clicks, and cost for the products you have advertised from a Shopping campaign, and that may or may not have been purchased.

For example, to view the number of clicks and impressions along with advertising cost for each brand in your inventory organized by categories from your inventory feed:

  1. Navigate to an advertiser or lower scope.

Steps for navigating to an advertiser
    1. Click the navigation bar to display navigation options.

    2. In the "Agency" list, click on the agency that contains the advertiser. You can search for an agency by name or scroll through the list.

    3. In the "Advertiser" list, click on the advertiser.

    4. Click Apply or press the Enter key.

Search Ads 360 displays the advertiser page, which contains data for all of the advertiser’s engine accounts.

  2. Click ▼ on the Dimension tab and select a dimension in the Products advertised category.
For example, to view product performance organized by brand, select Brand advertised.

  3. Click the Segment button and select a segment.
For example, to view data for each category level 1 in your inventory feed, select the Category level 1 advertised segment.

Current inventory data or historical inventory data

By default, the Products advertised dimensions use current data from your inventory feed. But you can select the Use historical product attributes checkbox to use data from your inventory feed at the time that Google Ads displayed ads for your products.

For example:

  1. You added product 1234 last week and assigned it to the Electronics category level 1 in your inventory feed.

  2. Google Ads displayed ads last week for the product and customers clicked the ads.

  3. This week, you change the category for product 1234 to Cameras.

  4. By default, all metrics for product 1234 appear in the Cameras category when you view the Category level 1 advertised dimension or segment.
But if you select the Use historical product attributes checkbox, the product's metrics from last week appear in the Electronics category, and the metrics from this week appear in the Cameras category.

Use formula columns to customize a Products advertised report

When you view a Products advertised report, you can use the product attributes in the report to create a formula column that calculates and outputs data in a way that's meaningful to you.

For example, if you view a Products advertised report organized by the Brand advertised attribute and segment the report by Landing page URL, you can create a formula column like the following:
Column title: Page
Formula: Right(Inventory_item_landing_page_url_advertised,30)

When you add the column to the Products advertised report, the column displays the last 30 characters of the landing page URL.

Note that formula columns can only include product attributes that are currently shown in the report, either because you selected the attribute on the Dimension tab or because you're using the attribute to segment the Products attribute report. If you select a different dimension or segment, Search Ads 360 removes any formula columns referring to product attributes that are no longer shown in the report.

Product marketplaces in Search Ads 360

Marketplaces are commerce sites that host products and/or websites of multiple individual sellers on the same domain, for example, seller.foo.com, or foo.com/seller. Marketplaces are supported through a Google Merchant Center multi-client account that serves a parent or umbrella account for several sub-accounts.

If your Google Merchant Center account serves as a multi-client account for a large marketplace that contains an especially large inventory, only certain dimensions are available in Search Ads 360 to report on the products:

  • Brand
  • Category
  • Condition
  • Custom label 0
  • Custom label 1
  • Custom label 2
  • Custom label 3
  • Custom label 4
  • Product type
  • Product ID

Additionally, a subset of product information for large marketplaces is displayed in the Search Ads 360 UI. For example, partial data may be provided for:

  • Product previews. A partial product preview list is indicated by the message, … over number products.
  • Product lists preview. The product lists preview will include a subset of all of the products, identified by the message, ... over number products.
  • Product breakout dimensions display an * (asterisk) rather than the exact number of products included in the dimension.
