Apply business data
The overall process for using a bulksheet to apply business data is as follows (the details are in the sections below):
- Download a bulksheet that contains your business data.
You need this bulksheet to see the IDs of the business data that's available in your advertiser. For example, if you've created business data for hotels, you'll need the values from the Hotel.ID column. - Download an editable bulksheet that contains the items you want to apply business data to.
The downloaded bulksheet automatically contains one column for each business data column you've defined in your advertiser. -
For each row in the editable downloaded bulksheet, enter the ID of the business data row you want to apply.
For example, enter the ID from the hotel's Hotel.ID column.

Search Ads 360 generates the report and either downloads the file to your browser's download directory or sends an email, depending on the delivery option you selected.
The downloaded bulksheet with Search Ads 360 items contains the following data:
- One row for each engine account, campaign, or other item you selected in the download settings.
- One column for editable settings, such as campaign name and status.
- One ID column for each type of business data you defined in your advertiser, plus an Effective ID column.
Enter business data IDs in the editable bulksheet
To apply business data to a campaign, ad group, or other item, enter a business data ID in the item's c:Business_Data.ID column.
For example:
-
Here's a business data bulksheet that defines three hotels.
RowType
c:Hotel.ID
c:Location.ID
c:Hotel.Avail
c:Hotel
Sleepwell
Boston: Back Bay

c:Hotel
Rest Eazy
New York: Chelsea
200
c:Hotel
Harbor View
New York: Chelsea

-
Here's a bulksheet with three campaigns. To apply hotels to campaigns, enter hotel IDs in the c:Hotel.ID column. Because the hotels in the example include a location, you can leave the c:Locations.ID column empty. The campaigns will also be associated with the location defined for the hotel.
RowType

c:Location.ID

campaign edit active Brand_Search_Sleepwell
Rest Eazy

Note that Search Ads 360 ignores data you enter into any of the Effective columns.
What are "Effective" columns?
When you download a bulksheet that contains campaigns, ad groups, and other Search Ads 360 items, each business data column is accompanied by an "Effective" column. The "Effective" column shows the business data applied to an item either directly or through inheritance.
These are read-only columns. Any data you enter in these columns will be ignored when you upload the bulksheet.
For example:
RowType |
Action |
Campaign |
Ad group |
c:Hotel.ID |
Effective c:Hotel.ID |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
campaign | edit |
Brand_Search_Sleepwell |
Sleepwell |
Sleepwell |
|
ad group | edit |
Brand_Search_Sleepwell |
Largest rooms |
Sleepwell |
In the example bulksheet:
- The "Sleepwell" hotel has been applied directly to the "Brand_Search_Sleepwell" campaign, so "Sleepwell" appears in both c:Hotel.ID and Effective c:Hotel.ID.
- The "Largest rooms" ad group in the campaign inherits the hotel from the campaign, so the "Sleepwell" hotel appears only in the Effective c:Hotel.ID column.
Detach business data
To detach (remove) business data from campaigns, ad groups, or other Search Ads 360 items:
- Download an editable bulksheet that contains the items you want to remove business data from.
The steps are the same as downloading a bulksheet to apply business data. - In the ID column of the business data you want to detach, enter
remove_content
.
For example, to remove a hotel from a campaign, enterremove_content
in the campaign's Hotel.ID column.RowType
Action
Account
Campaign
c:Hotel.ID
c:Location.ID
c:Hotel.Avail
campaign edit Hooper's - Google
Brand_Search_Sleepwell
remove_content
The business data is no longer directly applied to the item. The item will inherit any data applied to higher level items.
Excluding Business Data is not supported
Because Business Data is inherited, it isn't possible to exclude Business Data for a child item if you've applied Business Data to the parent. You can specify different Business Data for the child, but you can't specify "no Business Data" for a child item if Business Data is applied to the parent.
