When you load a webpage in Chrome, Tag Assistant checks for Google pixels on the page and provides real-time feedback:
Basic Implementation Check
A green notice indicates that the code is implemented correctly. Clicking into the Chrome Extension will show which Google pixels are installed on the page.
Gathering Account Information
If you expand the ‘working’ pulldown, Tag Assistant provides account information from the pixels: Google Analytics account ID, or conversion tracking ID. Note that, even for a correct implementation, Tag Assistant may provide suggestions to ensure pixels are up to date.
Getting Recommendations and Suggestions
A blue notice indicates that Tag Assistant has minor suggestions to make to your script in order to improve overall tagging health.
Diagnosing Implementation Errors
A yellow notice indicates that the script has minor errors associated with it and may not track properly for the minority of users. Expand the yellow 'working' label to see the minor errors associated with the script.
A red notice indicates that the script has major errors associated with it and is not tracking properly for the majority of users. Expand the red ‘not working’ label to see the errors associated with the script.
