Note: Recording calls without the consent of all call participants may not be legal in some jurisdictions.
Managed Google Workspace accounts
If you have a Google Workspace account managed by your work or school, you will need to have the appropriate Google Voice license to record phone calls.
On-demand recording
- When ready, tap Record.
- Voice plays an announcement to all participants that the recording has begun.
- Tap Stop recording to stop the recording.
- Voice plays an announcement to all participants that recording has stopped.
- Hanging up will also stop recording.
Automatic recording
If your Google Workspace administrator has set all calls to be recorded, Voice plays an announcement to all participants that recording has begun at the start of the call.
Personal Google accounts
If you have a personal Google account, not part of Google Workspace managed by your work or school, you can record an incoming call using the numbers on your phone’s dialpad.
- On your computer, go to voice.google.com.
- At the top right, click Settings .
- On the left, click Calls.
- Turn on Incoming call options.
Note: All participants must be on the call before you can start recording.
- Answer a call to your Google Voice number.
- To start recording, tap 4. All participants hear an announcement that the recording has begun.
- To stop recording, tap 4. All participants hear an announcement that the recording has ended.
- Hanging up also ends the recording.
You can find your recordings in the Calls tab. Recordings may be downloaded to your computer from the menu at the of the call record.
