You can use Google Voice to make calls or send text messages from Siri, the digital assistant, on your iPhone and iPad.
Set up Siri & Google Voice
- On your iPhone or iPad, tap Settings Siri & Search.
- Select an option:
- Turn on Listen for "Hey Siri"
- Turn on Press Side Button for Siri
- From the Settings screen, in your list of apps, tap the Voice app .
- Turn on Use with Ask Siri.
Tip: If you use more than one account in Google Voice, set your default account in iOS.
Make calls & send text messages from Siri
You can ask Siri to make calls or send text messages with phrases, such as:
- “Hey Siri, call John on Google Voice.”
- “Hey Siri, send a message using Google Voice.”
Use Google Voice in the Shortcuts app
To use Siri with Google Voice in the Shortcuts app, you must have iOS 13 and up.
- On your iPhone or iPad, open the Shortcuts app.
- At the top right, tap Add Add Action Apps.
- Select the Voice app.
- Select an option:
- Call: Choose a contact. The in-call screen opens.
- Send a message: Enter a message, then select recipients.
