You can use Google Voice to make calls or send text messages from Siri, the digital assistant, on your iPhone and iPad.
Set up Siri and Google Voice
- On your iPhone or iPad, tap Settings Siri & Search.
- Select an option:
- Turn on Listen for 'Hey Siri'
- Turn on Press Home for Siri
- From the settings screen in your list of apps, tap the Voice app .
- Turn on Use with Ask Siri.
Tip: If you use more than one account in Google Voice, set your default account in iOS.
Make calls and send text messages from Siri
You can ask Siri to make calls or send text messages with phrases such as:
- 'Hey Siri, call John on Google Voice.'
- 'Hey Siri, send a message using Google Voice.'
Use Google Voice in the Shortcuts app
To use Siri with Google Voice in the Shortcuts app, you must have iOS 13 and up.
- On your iPhone or iPad, open the Shortcuts app.
- At the top right, tap Add Add action Apps.
- Select the Voice app.
- Select an option:
- Call: Choose a contact. The in-call screen opens.
- Send a message: Enter a message, then select recipients.
