Using reports from drivers and your route, Waze may show you alerts for areas with a history of crashes. Alerts are dynamic and consider current traffic and road conditions, days of the week, time of day and latest history of crash reports.
Using Waze in your car? Manage alerts on your phone. The changes will apply when you use Waze in your car. If you're using Android Auto or CarPlay, make sure to disconnect your phone first.
You get alerts only when and where it matters most, for example:
- Alerts may not appear for roads that you drive on frequently
- If your route has multiple roads with a history of crashes, Waze only alerts you of the most critical ones
- One alert may appear for multiple affected roads in the same area
Notes:
- Crash history is based on user reports - if a crash wasn’t reported by users, Waze may not know about it
- If an alert is not displayed, it does not necessarily mean a road does not have a history of crashes
- Alerts do not differentiate between major and minor crashes
Turn off alerts
- Open Waze
- Tap
- Tap Settings
- Tap Alerts and reports
- Tap Reports
- Tap
- Turn off Alert while driving
