If you skipped creating an account and logged in to Waze as a ‘guest’, you can register this guest account retroactively.
Important: If you ever need to recover your account (for example, when switching devices) and all your saved settings, preferences, and more, you must register your account.
How do I know if I have a guest account?
- Open Waze on your phone or tablet
- Tap
- If you see “Hey Wazer” near the top of the screen, then you have a non-registered guest account. Follow the steps below to register.
Register your guest account
- Open Waze on your phone or tablet
- Tap
- Tap View profile
- Tap Register this account
- Tap Register this account again on the next screen
- Follow the instructions to add and verify your email address, or connect your Google account

Why didn't I get a verification email?
If you didn’t get a verification email, try the following:
- Make sure there aren’t any typos in your email address
- Make sure you’ve entered your full email address – for example, “[email protected]” instead of “username@gmail”
- Make sure you’re in the inbox of the correct email address
- Check your email’s spam folder for the verification code
- Search for “[email protected]” in your inbox
Note: If your email inbox is on another device than the one you're using to log in, do the following:
- Open your inbox from a web browser
- Open the verification email and tap Verify email. A new tab will open with a verification code.
- In Waze, enter the code
Why wasn't my email verified?
If you weren't able to verify your email, try the following:
- Go back to Waze
- Tap Having trouble?
- Tap Resend verification email

- Go to your inbox
- Open the verification email
- Tap Verify email
Note: You'll be taken back to the Waze app automatically.
Using email on a web browser?
- Go to your inbox
- Open the verification email
- Click Verify email. A new browser will open with the code.
- Enter the code in Waze
Why doesn't the email have a verification code?
When you open the email on your phone, you should be taken to the Waze app automatically, with no need to enter a code. If you're using email on your computer, the code should appear in the body of the email.
Let's try again:
- Open Waze on your mobile device
- Tap Log in
- Enter your email address
- Tap Next

- Tap Verify email

Why do I need to choose between 2 accounts?
If the email address you entered is already associated with an existing Waze account, you'll be given the option to choose between 2 accounts. To continue, you must choose only one account. The other account will be deleted, including:
