You can get notifications for texts, missed calls, events and reminders. Your watch will match your phone’s settings for whether it vibrates or stays silent for notifications.
Your watch will have the same Do not disturb settings as your phone. You can also turn on the 'Alarms only' DND setting from your watch.
Turn on 'Alarms only' from your watch
- If you can't see your screen, wake up the watch.
- From the top of your watch screen, swipe down.
- Tap Do not disturb .
If you don’t see these options on your watch
To stop seeing notifications on your watch, you can mute your watch. When your watch is muted, it won’t vibrate for new notifications.

- Tap Mute notifications . When your watch is muted, you’ll see Notifications off .
Note: If you silenced your phone but not your watch, your watch will still vibrate. It uses the same settings as your individual apps, not your phone.
If your phone is set to Do not disturb mode, your watch won't vibrate.
To stop notifications from certain apps, block them with your watch or through the Wear OS app.
Block and unblock app notifications with your phone
- Open the Wear OS app or the companion app for your device.
- At the bottom, under 'Settings', tap Notifications Change watch notifications.
- Tap an app to block or unblock it.
On some watches, you can turn off your watch’s screen temporarily, so that it doesn’t light up or show notifications, even if you move or tap the watch.
To turn on Cinema mode:
- If your watch has a Power button: Press it twice quickly.
- If your watch doesn’t have a Power button:
- If your screen is dim, tap the screen to wake up the watch.
- From the top of your watch screen, swipe down.
- Swipe from right to left until you see Cinema mode .
- Tap to turn on.
To turn off Cinema mode:
- If your watch has a Power button: Press it twice quickly.
- If your watch doesn't have a Power button: Tap the screen twice quickly.
