Make a low battery last longer

When your watch’s battery gets low, you can use Battery Saver mode to use your watch for longer.

Turn on Battery Saver

  1. If your screen is dim, tap it to wake up the watch.
  2. From the top of your watch’s screen, swipe down.
  3. Tap Battery Modes Battery saver and then select a battery mode.

If you still can't find it, check with your manufacturer.

Set Battery Saver to turn on automatically

Your watch can automatically turn on Battery Saver when your battery level is at 10% or less.

  1. If your screen is dim, tap it to wake up the watch.
  2. From the top of your watch’s screen, swipe down.
  3. Tap Settings and then Battery and then Power Saver.
    • Wear 2: Tap Settings and then System and then Battery.
  4. Turn on Battery saver at 10%.
    • Tip: Some watches show a different percentage, like 15%.

What changes when Battery Saver is on

When your watch turns on Battery Saver, it'll only show you the time. To save power, your watch:

  • Stops sending you notifications
  • Disables vibration, location services, and most background data
  • Turns off "Always on" display
  • Won't connect to Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, or mobile networks

When Battery Saver is on, check the time by pressing the Power button.

What happens when you take off your watch

After 30 minutes of inactivity, your watch will recognize that it’s not on your wrist and then switch to a low-power mode.

Depending on your watch, some of these changes may happen:

  • The watch screen turns off.
  • Notifications, alarms, and alerts from your phone are disabled.
  • Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and cellular services are turned off.
  • Less battery power is used in the background.

To return your watch features to normal, put it back on your wrist.
