These features are only available to partners who use YouTube Studio Content Manager.
If you’re following the best practices for asset labels, you may need to remove labels from your assets or delete labels from your Content Manager to stay under the limits.
Remove labels from assets
You can remove labels from your assets from the Asset labels page or the Assets page:
From the Asset labels page
To remove labels from your assets from the Asset labels page:
- Sign in to Studio Content Manager.
- From the left menu, select Assets labels .
- Click the name of an asset label.
- On the Asset label detail page, check the boxes next to the assets you want to remove the label from.
- To select all assets on a single page, check the "Select all" box at the top.
- To select all assets on all pages, check the "Select All" box at the top, then click “Select all matching”.
- From the top banner, click REMOVE FROM LABEL.
From the Assets page
To remove labels from your assets from the Assets page:

Sign in to Studio Content Manager.
- From the left menu, select Assets .
- Check the box next to the assets you want to remove labels from.
- To select all assets on a single page, check the "Select all" box at the top.
- To select all assets on all pages, check the "Select All" box at the top, then click “Select all matching”.
- From the top banner, click Update asset labels .
- Search for an asset label.
- Check the box next to the asset label REMOVE.
You can also remove asset labels from multiple assets at once using the Asset Update CSV template. To do this, enter the asset labels you want to retain in the add_asset_labels column. In the clear_labels column, enter “yes”.
Delete asset labels from your Content Manager
You can delete asset labels from your Content Manager individually or in bulk:
Delete an asset label
To delete individual asset labels from your Content Manager:
- Sign in to Studio Content Manager.
- From the left menu, select Asset labels .
- Search for the asset label you want to delete.
- Click the name of the asset label.
- On the Asset label detail page, from the left menu, select Metadata& .
- Click DELETE ASSET LABEL.
Delete multiple asset labels at once
To bulk delete multiple asset labels from your Content Manager:
- Sign in to Studio Content Manager.
- From the left menu, select Asset labels .
- Check the boxes next to the asset labels you want to delete.
- To select all assets on a single page, check the "Select all" box at the top.
- To select all assets on all pages, check the "Select All" box at the top, then click “Select all matching”.
- From the top banner, click DELETE.
Keep in mind: When you delete an asset label, it also deactivates any label-based campaigns that were created using that label.
