Add text to your videos

After you’ve created a project, enhance your videos using YouTube Create’s editing tools. Personalize your videos with hundreds of Google fonts in several different languages.

YouTube Create is available on Android phones that have at least 4G RAM. This app may be available on other devices in the future.

Add text to your videos

  1. From an open project, tap Text  in the toolbar.
  2. Select Plain text  or Text effects .
  3. Type to add text. Learn how to format text below.
  4. Tap Done when complete.

Format text

  1. Select the text layer in your project that you’d like to edit. 
  2. From the toolbar, use the following options to edit the text:
    • Split : Cut the duration of your text.
    • Edit : Type to change the text displayed in your video
    • Style : Tap on the tabs to change the size, font, color, background, format, outline, or shadow.
    • Animation : Select an animation and use the sliders to set the duration of the effect. 
  3. Tap Done to update the text.

To move a text layer within your video, tap and drag it to the desired spot within your video.

Delete text

  1. Tap to select the text layer that you want to delete.
  2. Tap Trash .
