How to get paid on YouTube

Did you join the YouTube Partner Program (YPP) recently? Curious about how YouTube will pay you? Wondering when your first payment will arrive? Trying to figure out whether you'll get paid this month or next month?

When Will I Get Paid? YouTube Partner Program Payment Timelines

Here’s what you need to do to get paid:

  1. Confirm your personal info
  2. Share your tax info
  3. Select a form of payment
  4. Meet the payment threshold

Once you complete the steps above, you’re ready for your first payment.

1. Verify your personal info

When your earnings hit the verification threshold, we’ll ask you to verify your identity and address. We do this to confirm the accuracy of your account info and protect you from fraud.

Before you hit the verification threshold, check that the payment name and address in your AdSense for YouTube account are correct. We’ll use this info to verify your identity and address.

1. Verify your identity

Once your YouTube earnings reach the verification threshold, we’ll ask you to verify your identity. To continue to monetize and get paid you’ll have to verify your identity.

2. Verify your address

Once you’ve verified your identity, we’ll mail a PIN to your payment address. Enter this PIN into your AdSense for YouTube account so we can verify your address and issue future payments. We’ll send your PIN by standard post, which may take 3-4 weeks to arrive.

If you have separate payments accounts for AdSense and AdSense for YouTube, you’ll verify your info when either of your payments accounts reaches the verification threshold. You’ll only have to verify your info once.

2. Share your tax info

All creators earning money on YouTube must submit their tax info, no matter their location.

Google is required to collect tax info from creators in YPP. If any tax deductions apply, Google withholds taxes on YouTube earnings from viewers in the US. If you don’t share your tax info with us, Google may be required to deduct up to 24% of your total earnings worldwide.

3. Select your form of payment

When your earnings reach the payment method selection threshold, you can choose how you want to get your money.

Your payments address determines what options you’ll have for forms of payment. The options available may include Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT), wire transfer, or check. Learn how to set up your form of payment.

If you have separate payments accounts for AdSense and AdSense for YouTube, you’ll need to select a form of payment for each account when it reaches the threshold.

4. Meet the payment threshold

If your YouTube earnings reach the payment threshold by the end of the month, then a payment processing period begins. Once the processing period ends, your earnings are finalized and posted to your AdSense for YouTube account. If you have a single channel associated with your AdSense for YouTube account, you can also view your payments in the YouTube Studio mobile app. We’ll issue you a payment as long as there are no payment holds on your account and you’re following the:

Example
For example, let's say the payment threshold for your account is $100. If your current balance reached $100 during January and you've completed all the steps above and have no active payment holds, then we would issue you a payment at the end of February.

If you have separate payments accounts for AdSense and AdSense for YouTube, each account needs to reach the payment threshold to be paid.

If your YouTube earnings don’t reach the payment threshold by the end of the month, your earnings roll over to the next month. Your earnings balance will continue to accrue until the payment threshold is met.
