Creator-initiated video linking

As a creator, you can link brand partners to your videos. This adds a "Paid Promotion" label to your content and unlocks advanced features. You can do this when uploading or editing a video in the YouTube studio mobile app.

Note: You can only send requests to link brand partners to your videos in the YouTube studio mobile app. Currently this feature is only available to YouTube Partner Program creators with a minimum of 4,000 subscribers.

Linking your video to a brand's Google Ads account lets the brand:

  • See your video's organic view metrics.
  • Show ads to people who visit and interact with your channel.
  • Understand how people interact with your channel after seeing their ads.

How to request a link to a brand partner

  1. Open the YouTube Studio app .
  2. At the top of your screen, tap the Add icon and then choose the video you want to upload.
  3. In the “Add details” page, tap Add paid promotion label and then select “Yes.”
    • Under the “Brand Partner” section, search for the brand partner you want to link to and then select the channel.
  4. Agree to the statement in the pop-up to save the Brand Partner.
Note: Upon agreeing, viewer demographics, watchtime, retention, engagement, and performance data will be shared with the Advertiser. Learn how to manage video linking.
  5. Fill in other details and then upload the video, linking the brand partner.
Note: If a tagged channel is not linked to any Google Ads accounts, we won’t be able to send a link request to that brand partner.
