Videos removed or blocked due to YouTube's contractual obligations

YouTube enters into agreements with certain music copyright owners to allow use of their sound recordings and musical compositions.

Under these contracts, we may be required to remove specific videos from the site. We may also block specific videos in certain territories, or prevent specific videos from being reinstated after a counter notification.

Sometimes, this may mean that the Content ID appeals and counter notification processes won't be available. Your account won't be penalised right now.

YouTube will let you know whether this happens to one of your videos. We'll also give you contact info for the complainant when possible so that you can discuss the matter directly.
