Connect to your SFTP dropbox

These features are only available to partners using YouTube's Content Manager to manage their copyrighted content.

Once your YouTube partner manager has configured your dropbox, you need to create a reusable connection between your SFTP client and your dropbox server. This article explains how to create a connection using Cyberduck, but you can use any client software that supports SFTP connections.

To create an SFTP connection:

  1. Download and install Cyberduck.

  2. Run the Cyberduck application.

  3. Select File > Open Connection.

  4. Select SFTP (SSH File Transfer Protocol) from the drop-down menu.

  5. In the Server text box, enter partnerupload.google.com.

  6. In the Port text box, enter 19321

  7. In the Username text box, enter the name of your dropbox.
The dropbox name begins with 'yt-' and was set up for you by your partner manager.

  8. Expand More options.

  9. Tick the box for Use Public Key Authentication.

  10. Select the SSH private key file that you previously generated.

  11. Click Connect to close the settings dialogue box.
