Features described in this article only apply to users of YouTube Studio Content Manager. For info on general YouTube policies, learn more here.
Default policies are applied when a situation doesn't meet the conditions specified in a custom policy.
For example, YouTube applies your default upload policy to videos that you upload to your channels. Content ID applies your default match policy when it claims videos for an asset that doesn't have a custom match policy.
Setting default policies speeds up the process of uploading and claiming content. You can set both default upload and default match policies.
If you don't select a default upload or match policy, the predefined policy Monetise in all countries is applied.
