You can blur parts of your video on a computer in YouTube Studio.
Note: For unedited video with over 100,000 views, you may not be able to save changes to it, except to blur faces. This restriction does not apply to channels that are in the YouTube Partner Programme.
Open the video editor
Open the video editor to blur a section of your video.
- Sign in to YouTube Studio.
- From the left menu, select Content .
- Click the title or thumbnail of the video that you'd like to edit.
- From the left menu, select Editor .
Add face blur
- Under the 'Video editor' section, select Blur select Face blur.
- Once processing is complete, select the faces that you'd like to blur click APPLY.
- Click and drag the box to adjust the blur.
- Click SAVE.
Add custom blur
- Under the 'Video editor' section, select Blur select Custom blur.
- Click and drag the box to adjust the blur.
- Click SAVE.
More options
- Move the blurred box to a different place: Click and drag within the box.
- Change the blur shape: Select Rectangle or Oval as your blur shape.
- Resize the blurred area: Click and drag any corner of the box to blur a bigger or smaller area.
- Change when the blurring happens: Click and drag the ends of the timeline to set when the blurring begins and ends.
- Allow the blurred area to move: Select Track object to make sure that the blurred area moves around.
- Prevent the blurred area from moving at all: Select Fix blur position to make sure that the blurred area always stays in the same place.
- Blur a few areas: Click and drag new boxes over the parts that you want to blur.
- You can download your edited video and upload it again to publish the changes that you've made.
