Manage channels in Studio Content Manager

These features are only available to partners who use YouTube Studio Content Manager.

You can create or link channels in Studio Content Manager to efficiently manage multiple channels and videos at once.

Add or remove channels

Follow instructions in the articles below to add or remove channels from your Content Manager:

Enable Content ID for videos

Once a channel has been added to your Content Manager, you can claim videos for that channel. To enable Content ID claiming for individual videos in linked channels:

  1. Sign in to Studio Content Manager.
  2. From the left menu, select Videos .
  3. Check the boxes next to videos you’d like to use as references.
  4. Select Edit and then Content ID matching.
  5. Choose Enable and select a match policy for the video.
  6. Click UPDATE VIDEOS.

Edit video settings

You can edit an individual video’s metadata and settings from Studio Content Manager. Use the Videos page to turn on monetization for videos, edit metadata, and adjust other settings. You can also complete these actions in bulk for multiple videos at once. Learn more about editing video settings.

Edit channel permissions

You can edit permissions for individual channels in YouTube Studio Content Manager. There are separate permissions for:

  • View revenue: Allow channel owners to see total ad revenue
  • Set match policy: (Some accounts) Allow channel owners to turn on Content ID matching and select match policy for individual videos
  • Monetize uploads: Allow channel owners to turn on monetization for individual videos

To edit channel permissions:

  1. Sign in to Studio Content Manager.
  2. From the left menu, select Channels .
  3. Under the “Channel permissions” columns, click Edit to update permissions.

To edit channel permissions in bulk:

  1. Sign in to Studio Content Manager.
  2. From the left menu, select Channels .
  3. Check the box next to each channel you want to update.
    1. To select all channels on a single page, check the box at the top.
    2. Note that bulk permission change is not possible when selecting all channels in your Studio Content Manager.
  4. Click Permissions and choose the type of edit you want to make.
  5. Click Confirm.

View analytics

You can find analytics like view counts, likes, and comments for individual channels or videos in Studio Content Manager. Use the Analytics  page in the left menu. Learn more about Analytics.

Monitor channel statuses

An export of your channel list is helpful for finding terminated channels, keeping track of invites, and checking monetization status. To export info about the channels associated with your Content Manager:

  1. From the left menu, select Channels .
  2. Check the box at the top of the page to select all channels.
  3. Click Export and then Comma-separated values (.csv) or Google Sheets (new tab). The file will begin processing.
  4. When your export is ready:
    • For a .csv file: Click DOWNLOAD from the top banner.
    • For a Google Sheets file: Click OPEN SHEETS IN NEW WINDOW from the top banner.

Take action on claims and strikes

Some Content Manager accounts can take actions on the Content ID claims and copyright strikes associated with their linked channels, such as disputing and appealing the claims. To view this info:

  1. Sign in to Studio Content Manager.
  2. From the left menu, select Videos .
  3. Click the filter bar  and then Copyright or Copyright strikes.
  4. In the Restrictions column, hover over Copyright.
  5. Click SEE DETAILS.
  6. Review the info, then click SELECT ACTION to see additional steps you can take.
