This article is for administrators who manage their organization's Google Workspace or Cloud Identity account.
With the Moderation Tool Google Workspace you can review and act on content intercepted or reported in Workspace applications, such as Chat and Gmail. You can also provide access to the tool for other authorized users in your organization. This allows you to moderate harmful, inappropriate, or sensitive messages in your organization, and enforce communication guidelines.

Open the Moderation Tool Chat tab

Sign in to your Google Admin console.
Sign in using your administrator account (does not end in @gmail.com).

In the Admin console, go to Menu AppsGoogle WorkspaceModeration.
- Click Chat.
Click on a row to open the report and take action.
Finding reports in the Moderation Tool
From the Moderation Tool menu’s Chat tab, you will see a list of reports made in Chat. The report window shows all reports made in your organization and shows the following:
- Last reported time: Time of the latest report for a message from the most recent onward.
- Reports: The number of reports a message has received.
- Reported message: The text of the reported message.
- Message sender: The account that made the reported message.
- Message sent date: The date the message was posted.
- Status: The status of the report, either Active or Resolved.
You can filter for specific reports using the filter bar. At the top of the page, click the filter bar and choose the parameter to filter by. Options include:
- Status: Filter by active or resolved reports.
- Reporting category: Filter by the category of the report. Category filters include:
- Harassment
- Discrimination
- Explicit content
- Spam
- Confidential information
- Sensitive information
- Other
- Conversation ID: Filter by conversation ID.
Reporting form content
On the right, click View details to show the report side panel, you may need to scroll horizontally to find the button. You can close the report by clicking Close or off of the side panel. You can review reports sequentially by clicking Previous and Next.
