If you have Education Standard or Education Plus, you already have these advanced endpoint management features and do not need Endpoint Education Upgrade.
You can add Endpoint Education Upgrade to your Google Workspace for Education edition to get advanced device management capabilities and enhanced security controls. This add-on gives you more control over mobile devices and laptops that access your organization's data, helping to keep your school’s data more secure.
Upgrade benefits
- Control which apps can be installed on Android and iOS devices.
- Control who can sign in to company-owned devices.
- Use rules to automate device management tasks and get security alerts.
- Locate lost or stolen devices or check when they were last used using log events.
- Use Context-Aware Access to prevent lost or stolen devices from being used and remotely wipe data from devices.
- Require stronger device passwords.
- Use Android work profiles.
- Manage company-owned devices or Google Accounts on personal devices.

Get Endpoint Education Upgrade
Endpoint Education Upgrade is available by user-based license or device-based license (coming soon). You cannot purchase one license for your whole domain or organization. You can purchase Endpoint Education Upgrade licenses through your Google Workspace for Education reseller and select partners.
If you have Education Fundamentals and want to upgrade, instead of purchasing individual Endpoint Education Upgrade licenses, you can upgrade to Education Standard or Education Plus.
Guidelines for user-based licenses
- Each user with an Endpoint Education Upgrade license can use up to 15 of their own devices per license.
- Licenses are not transferable to other users.
- Upon request from Google, you must present evidence of compliance with these guidelines.
