Migrating chat messages from Teams using the new data migration service is currently in beta and subject to the Pre-General Availability Offerings Terms in the Google Workspace Service Specific Terms.
If you migrate users' chat messages with chat migration for the new data migration service, you can access 2 migration reports. The 2 types of reports are a summary report and a migration report.

Export the reports
After you run a chat migration, you can download the 2 reports in the Google Admin console of your target account.
You must be signed in as a super administrator for this task.

Sign in to your Google Admin console.
Sign in using an account with super administrator privileges (does not end in @gmail.com).

In the Admin console, go to Menu DataData import & exportData migration (New).
- To export the reports to Google Sheets, click Export migration report or Export summary report.
If the amount of data in the report exceeds the limit allowed in Sheets, the report is downloaded as a comma-separated values (CSV) file.
- If the Tasks list doesn't open automatically with the downloaded report, click Tasks .
- For Your Tasks, click the link to open the file in Sheets.
Understand the summary report
The summary report provides a count of the number of messages that migrated or failed to migrate for each channel.
Summary report field | Description |

Team ID | The ID of the team. |
Channel ID | The ID of the channel. |
Space ID | The ID of the new Space. Spaces that weren't created are listed in the migration report. |
Migration status | Status of the chat migration:

Messages migrated | Number of messages that migrated successfully. |
Messages failed | Number of messages that failed to migrate. To troubleshoot, check the migration report. |
Messages skipped |
Number of messages that were skipped and not migrated. |
Interpret the migration report
Use the migration report to identify messages that didn't migrate and the reasons for the failure.
Error report field | Description |

Status | The migration status of the item (skipped, warning, error, success). |
Error/warning code & description | The code and message associated with the error or warning status.

Processing start time | Start time of the migration of the item. |
Processing end time | End time of the migration of the item. |
Source type | The source item (such as, team, channel, channel metadata, channel memberships, or message). |
Source identifier | ID of the source item. |
Source URI | URI of the source item. |
Target type | The target item (such as, space, space metadata, space memberships, or message). |
Target identifier | ID of the item being migrated to the target account. |
Target URI | URI of the target item. |
Resolve common error messages
If you get an error that's not mentioned in this table, try running a delta migration.
