Install & prepare GCRS

4. Create the GCRS database

Next, you create the Google Calendar Resource Sync (GCRS) database using the gcrs.ntf template.

You're on step 4 of 5

Using the template

The GCRS distribution kit contains 2 HCL Notes templates, gcrs.ntf and gcrs-log.ntf. You copied these templates to the GCRS server when you set up the HCL Domino environment.

Use the gcrs.ntf template to manually create a database on the Domino server.

Important: Don't copy the templates to a .nsf file. If you do, the monitoring agents won't run and the access control list (ACL) won't be set up correctly.

About the database

The database contains the system configuration and a set of resource profiles. A single resource profile identifies a Notes and a Google Workspace resource that the system synchronizes.

The GCRS database also includes the schedule agent Sync Calendars. This agent is responsible for synchronizing the resources between the two systems.

We recommend that you place this database in a subfolder on the Domino server. For example, put the database in a folder with the name "gcrs", rather than in the root directory.

Next steps

After you create the GCRS database, the GCRS setup form opens automatically. You need to complete the setup form to finish the installation process.
